Overview[]

The Badgesquatch is a rare, relatively harmless enemy that was introduced in the release of the Beta 1.1 update. The Badgesquatch will try to run away from the player when approached, it is quite tricky to catch considering that it is quite speedy. It also has the ability to jump up walls but will quickly fall off after a split second.

Appearance[]

The Badgesquatch is a small, round creature composed of several thick black lines which flail in an erratic fashion. It has two large, beady eyes featuring tired violet eyelids, as well as violet spherical "fists" and small, black n' hollow feet. It has a 1% chance to spawn in any cavern.

Tips[]

  • Try using projectile attacks like the Ray Gun when it is far away, this prevents it from detecting you.
  • It is easy to reach it by chasing it into a wall or hole if you do not have a projectile weapon.
  • The Attack Badge, Hitbox Badge, and Familiar Badge will not make a rare drop sound effect if Badgesquatch drops them, always check what it dropped.
  • Use items with big hitboxes to attack it, like Haunted Halberd
  • If you wish to grind for this enemy, it is a good idea to grind for it in the Buried Jungle or The Hallo. This is because a lot of enemies spawn per floor, giving you a much higher chance for it to spawn. It also spawns more often in The Hallo (2% or 1/50 spawn compared to 1% or 1/100 spawn).

Drops[]

The Badgesquatch will always drop at least one Badge when killed, with each badge having a different prioirityvalue in the code.

NOTE: Because of the Beta 1.2.899 update, these drop chances are most likely outdated, as it was stated that the chances were rebalanced to favor utility badges over joke ones along with minor tweaks to the badge drops since then.

Trivia[]

  • The Badgesquatch is a reference to the myth Sasquatch, which is said to exist in Forests.
  • Its original design was misinterpreted as scribbles, as it was originally meant to be a ball of different Badges. However, its modeler did not realize this.[1]
  • Ultra Badgesquatch is a 1/55000 spawn or 1/27500 in The Hallo, making it one of the rarest Ultra Enemies in the game.
